MIT Apps Spike: Class of 2028

 
 

For the Class of 2028, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has admitted 614 students in the Regular Decision round from a pool of 15,669 applications for an acceptance rate of 3.92%. These students join the 661 students admitted in the Early Action round. 

This was a competitive year at MIT. The college received a total of 28,232 applications between both rounds, accepting a total of 1,275 students for an overall acceptance rate of 4.52%. 

This year, application numbers were up almost 10% from last year. For the Class of 2027, MIT received a total of 26,914 applications, quite a dip from previous cycles. So it appears that applications are back on the rise.
