New York University Class of '27 Admissions Roundup

For the Class of 2027, New York University (NYU) has issued a press release stating that they have offered acceptance to 8% of their applicants. Like many other top universities, they have chosen to keep exact figures under wraps.

What they have stated in their press release is that they admitted approximately 5,700 students from a pool of nearly 120,000 applications leading to an acceptance rate of around 4.75%, by our math.

It is possible that the 8% acceptance rate also includes deferred students, but we can’t confirm this. It’s interesting that NYU is withholding their exact figures while releasing data that doesn’t seem to add up.

For now, these figures are all we can offer. We will provide updates as more information is released.

Fun Facts:

  • NYU has a World Champion Quidditch team. No, we aren’t making this up. In fact, NYU’s team recently made the Sweet 16 of the World Cup of Quidditch. We’re not sure exactly what that means, but congrats nonetheless!

  • The NYU Library system is one of the best. Spread throughout the campus, the libraries hold over 4.5 million volumes! That’s a lot of books.
