1-2-3 College App Workshop for High School Seniors

Ivy Link offers one-on-one admissions advising and application assistance, but we also offer intensive weekend workshops in a group setting.

1-2-3 College App Workshop helps 12th graders to complete their essays, organize recommendation letter strategies, and get applications off their minds in order to focus on school work and other activities. Students will work with our coaches individually and in small groups to prepare compelling personal statements and supplements, organize and present impressive activity sheets, compile college lists, practice for the interview, and develop overall application strategies.

Spaces will be limited at each program to ensure that students benefit from a bespoke experience given their unique backgrounds and target colleges.

Compelling Essays. Your student will work one-on-one and in small groups to prepare a main personal statement for the Common Application and responses to supplemental questions for one college of their choice (typically, their Early Decision/Action college). By learning Ivy Link’s strategies, students avoid common pitfalls, while brainstorming topics and crafting essays that present the best aspects of the students.

Impressionable Activity Sheet. Our experts will help your student to prepare the Activity Sheet to include awards, achievements, extracurricular endeavors, summer and volunteer activities, and work and internship experiences. Our students learn to organize and present information in order to stand out from the crowd.

Interview Training. Our mock interviews will help reduce your student’s stress by familiarizing your student with potential questions and instructing your student in the techniques for effective responses.

Fine-Tuned College List. Our experts will help to fine-tune your student’s college list to best match your student’s credentials, interests, and aspirations.

Application Strategies. Our experts will work with your student individually to review your student’s odds at gaining admissions to selective colleges given your student’s test scores and grades.

Standardized Testing Strategies. Our experts will review your student’s history of standardized test scores and advise your student on whether to retest.

Effective Letters of Recommendation. Your student will learn strategies for obtaining effective letters of recommendation, as well as the types of letters to avoid.

Completed Common Application. Your student will leave with all the necessary components to complete the Common Application for one college of their choice.
